Charkraview - The Farmer Suicide Game

The game Chakraview is based on the problems faced by a farmer that ultimately leads to the farmer suicide. This game is developed by Tata Institute of Social Sciences. In this game, you are given a random family with random family members. All the family members have different needs, and this makes a total of family needs which the farmer must pay from the harvest earned money. There are several factors which play a role in this. Sometimes there may be a pest attack or may be a drought. Thus, the income may reduce so the farmer takes loan. The loan is calculated as per acre of land. Also, farmer may or may not have unmarried daughters and thus their marriage also costs. Additionally, there may be cost of sickness. If the loan exceeds the 35000 per acre mark, then the farmer suicides and the game ends. Let’s see how many years one can try to be in a game. This game teaches us the agrarian distress. How farmers that are completely dependent on the natural conditions suffers most with the hands of a bureaucrat and the governments. Play this game to feel what it is like to be farmer.

I. MATURITY It is the stage of fully development of tissue of fruit and vegetables only after which it will ripen normally.
